3.5 DMG2, Andy, and more fun.

This book is going to scare me. Especially in regards to how "official" all its stuff is going to be.

With the 3 core rule books, errata, and "official" rules being published in Complete Series books (the PrC pre-requisite rules published in both CW and CA) ... it's already hard enough to keep all "final word" rules up-to-date and accessible.

Heh. I'd like to see some of the better Sage Advice as well. It could be called "The Humor Corner" or something, and it could just be a list of all the inexcusable snafus the Skip and the Andy have come up with over the years. It could have the thing about monks and holding objects. It could have the tirade about how Rogues don't have Sap proficiency. It could have the explanation about how Paladins don't need to worship Torm to get spells while not in the Forgotten Realms, so the fact that some of the FR LG gods can't grant Paladin spells isn't a big deal. It could go all out. It could have humorous cartoons to go with each one.

Is it just me, or does "rules material for handling in-game situations" sound like . . . rules? The sort of stuff that should be in, say, the original DMG?

Color me confused.

Rest assured, it will be loaded to the gills with stealth erratta galore.

Accompanied with a piss-poor explanation as to how core rules and this quasi-core rules book somehow all mesh together.

Seriously, I'd rather have a "revised" 3.75 DMG instead of a DMG 1 and DMG 2. There also better be extremely freakin' crystal clear explanations how to integrate Core Rules, erratta, Rules of the Game clarification (confusations), Sage Advice columns, and auxiliary WotC book rulings into once nice, neat, and tidy Rules Flow.

Or I'm gonna throttle someone.

Wrenfield, is it too late to send your resume to Hasbro? I'd like that book, too.

I'm just looking forward to the count of how many times the DMG II contradicts the core rules, and says it's a "clarification."

DMG2... eh what's the point. Of the MM and the PHB, the DMG is the least in need of any fixing. About the only problem that can stem from the DMG is using the pricing guidelines too literally, but they're not supposed to be taken literally anyway.

If anything they need another rerelease of the classes, feats and spells section of the PHB. Also with some fixes for stuff like charge rules.

The DMG is one of the few books that actually almost works. Leave it alone.

Note to self: stay out of arm's reach of Wrenfield when she finally reads through a copy of the DMG 2 - or wear neck protection.

I'm going to have weeks worth of stuff to complain about from that book. That's pretty good value for money.

I'm currently learning how the maize genome has expanded exponentially during the last few million years of evolution. See, there are these genetic elements in DNA called transposons (or if you wanna be cute, you can call 'em Jumping Genes) that insert themselves in random places in the genome. And then they replicate and insert themselves somewhere else. Before long, the species in question has genetic material full of crap and it's difficult for even an expert in sequecing genes to tell shit from shinola.

Andy Collins and his team of designers are filling the rules with an extravagant amount of crap. Worse than could be foretold. It's getting really hard to tell shit from shinola.
